Signing

We've been signing (mama, daddy, milk, more, & eat) to August off & on since 6 months of age. Tonight after months of looking like crazies we got some signage from the Aug-monster.. MORE! In between spoonfuls of bananas August would bring her little hands together till I put more food in her mouth.

From more we got to clapping (first time), lots & lots of clapping that lead to shrieking at the tops of her lungs from excitement.. oooh baby!

7 Months!

August turned 7 months old on Saturday. I know I say this every month but I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! She is growing fast, learning so much, changing every day.

• Army crawling - You army crawl EVERYWHERE. You go straight for the PS3 wires, & daddy's head set whenever you play on the floor.
  
• Sitting up - You've perfected the art of sitting. You'll sit for hours in the middle of the living room floor playing, but not in your pack n' play. You don't like to be caged.. hehe.
  
• Teething - You cut your first tooth! Your left front tooth. & the other looks like it'll be here soon. You had ONE night of relief where you slept for 7 hours straight.
• Sleep - We've had hardly any sleep this past month due to the teething. You're nursing for comfort & doing so about four times a night. You didn't even nurse this much when you were a newbie!
  
• Solids - You were eating solids a few times a week, but we're taking a break at the moment.. You don't seem to enjoy eating them (but you do love playing in them). We are researching BLW & might take this approach with you.
• Mama & Dada - You got your M's & D's down. You say mamamama & dadadadadda all the time. Melts us always.
• G Diapers - We dropped a pretty penny & you are now a 100 % of the time G Diaper baby. We are having hardly any poopy explosions! I am so happy with these diapers, just keeping up on the washing can be a tuffy.

Solids!

Over the past month I have been getting ready to start feeding August solid food! I made a huge order on amazon.com in prep for my baby food makin' & feeding. I ordered a Cuisinart Mini Processor, Baby Cubes & BPA free trays for storage, bamboo bowls & spoons for feeding. We bought a $25 high chair from IKEA, too. BEST $25 I think we've spent!

On Friday March 12th Mark gave August her first food - locally grown organic carrots made by me! Mark was only able to get two spoonfuls in her mouth before she refused to open. We didn't want to rush things so we just let her explore!


Annnnnd... It has been over a week & little Auggie is still exploring. Meal time is messy time. She will only eat if she is in control of the spoon. It is hard to tell how much she is actually eating, so much food is on her, the floor, walls, and even the beau dog! She will have an orange poo every now & then so I know some is actually making it into her belly.

4 Months, 4 Weeks, 1 Day!

Yesterday August rolled from tummy to back, back to tummy... like she had been doing it for years!

You rolled from back to belly twice tonight!! It sounded like a football game was going on in your room.. Daddy & I were cheering so loud. You still haven't rolled from tummy to back, though! Silly girl. LOVE YOU!
